Pinterest

I have been following this for several weeks now and even though they have actually been around for about 2 years now, no one has heard of them until early this year when they opened the doors to the public. Of course, I'm talking about the Pinterest movement. In less than a year, they have grown to OVER 65 million users and that number is growing exponentially. It is no wonder Facebook and the rest of social media is quaking in their boots. They effectively were caught with their pants down. Looking like fools with their pants on the ground...pants on the ground...pants on the ground...looking like fools with their pants on the ground. LOL!!! Anyway, being the king of the hill has its advantages, but just as many disadvantages. Like being blinded by their own smug, pride that NO ONE can topple them....but this is not a story about the failures of social media, but more of a willingness to either adapt to the ever-changing landscape that is THE INTERNET or fall victim to one’s own ignorance and blindness. I consider this to be one of those pivotal moments in history when you know this is BIG and you say "am I on board or not?" Because to face reality we have to admit that eventually we will run out of new ideas and there are limitations to how far we can go with the Internet in our lives before it becomes a cliché. i.e. Maybe I'm missing something here but we have mobile devices, slates, tablets, netbooks, laptops/notebooks, desktops, and so on....the only thing we are doing is making the devices look prettier and ooooo 3D....oh and yes I seen somewhere they were trying to put the Internet onto a wristwatch!!! (Say squint a LOT!!!) How much farther do we have to go before realize that the time get on board is now....if we want to make money then we need to look at the bigger picture and hopefully have the foresight like the old schoolers 30 and 40 years ago who planned for the long haul and not just for the next product, but the next several products. A little spoken of secret about Microsoft is that they already have windows 9 being programmed and the design for windows 10 is probably not far behind. It is well known that the chip manufacturers are several years ahead on processor speeds and more. They will survive for a long time at that rate. However, software and programming has been lagging and the rate that new ideas are formed is slowing a lot faster than once realized. How much more social can social media get, for crying out loud we share almost everything except the trips to the bathroom and some people are even weird enough to share that too...ewwwwww! Therefore, back to the original thought....if you want in on the PINTEREST movement the time is NOW!!! Not tomorrow...not next week, but RIGHT NOW!!!
